Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapy that has been practised for thousands of years and is based upon the premise that the feet are linked to the whole body and hold mini maps of the body’s anatomy, and so therefore any body system can be accessed and stimulated by massaging and applying pressure to the corresponding area on the feet.

By manipulating and applying pressure to certain parts of the feet the whole body can be brought back into a natural state of balance. Reflexology aims to stimulate the body’s own healing processes to keep it in homeostasis and maintain health and well-being. It works on the whole person, mind, body and soul, encouraging both relaxation and stimulation on a physical and subtle level.

Chakra Balancing Massage & Reflexology

The chakra system is located in the core of our being, in a channel that encompasses the spine and includes the tailbone to the crown of the head, as well as the nerve bundles associated with each individual chakra. Ayurvedic tradition recognises seven main chakras, energy centres in the body which are junctions between consciousness (mind) and matter (body) and which link the various aspects of what makes us human: our physical, energetic, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual selves. When we focus on the chakras, we can connect to these aspects and move toward balance, health, and well-being.

When working with chakras, think of health as being on a continuum. Depending on your diet, exercise, stress levels, emotional states, and many other factors, you are either moving toward greater health or away from it. It is similar with chakras. “Closed” or “imbalanced” qualities of the chakras are on one end of a health continuum and “open” or “balanced” qualities are on the other end. Depending on your lifestyle, you are either moving toward greater awareness and balance within the chakras or away from it.

This treatment focuses on balancing the chakras primarily through the body as a whole via the medium of Aromatic Massage, and secondarily through the feet.

The reflexology procedure focuses on two aspects of the chakras: the physical location of the chakra and the endocrine gland that is associated with each chakra by related function or close proximity.

Chakra Balancing is believed to promote health by maximising the flow of energy in the body, much as a tune-up enables a car to operate at peak efficiency. A Chakra Balancing Massage incorporates the practices of Reiki with Aromatic Massage & Reflexology, holistically treating the whole being, body, mind & spirit, as it aims to bring them back into balance.

Reiki

Reiki is an ancient, non-intrusive complementary therapy. A hands-on healing technique, Reiki enhances the body’s own innate ability to heal itself on all levels, restoring balance and harmony to the mind, body and spirit.

The energy involved in Reiki healing is the universal energy that surrounds all life. Reiki is used throughout the world by people of all creeds and belief systems. Reiki can benefit everyone.

Everyone has the ability to use Reiki however; most adults have closed off to the energy they were naturally channelling as children. Years of conditioning and the general ups and downs of life contribute to this.

Benefits include:

  • Reduces stress, tension and anxiety

  • Relaxes both body and mind, encouraging homeostasis

  • Boosts energy levels

  • Promotes better sleep

  • Cleanses the body of toxins and supports immune system

  • Clears the mind and improves focus

People may find that after Reiki they cope better with life issues and their energy is not depleted along the way. People with low self-esteem and poor self-confidence levels may have also noted remarkable differences following treatments. Reiki is something that pregnant woman can use and can be a great support during child birth. Some maternity hospitals now offer Reiki as a complementary form of therapy.
